⬤ Srila Bhaktiratna Sadhu Maharaj was born to pious and Vaishnava parents in the Sahastra Audichya Brahmin family during the auspicious brahma-muhurta on November 22, 1971 in Ahemdabad, India. He started seeking the divine way right from his childhood. He entered into holy trances simply by hearing the songs of Lord Krishna and Shikshashtakam constantly sung or played at home by his parents.
⬤ He is a natural vegetarian from birth with no vices. He was an exceptionally brilliant student throughout his education and excelled in everything he did. He was very humble, down-to-earth, simple, gentle, loving, caring, and very affectionate to everyone. The beauty is that he has never changed and thus embodies these qualities upto this day.
⬤ His parents, being very holy, took him with his brother on pilgrimages to almost all holy places in India during his early and late childhood. This inculcated in him a very deep attachment for seeking out the higher purpose of human life.
⬤ For eighteen years, along with excelling in his studies, he spent time in deep solitary meditation and spiritual study in his palatial mansions, farms, and estates in the Prempur village in Gujarat.
⬤ Eventually, in 1989, he found the greatest treasure in his life in the form of Chaitanya Charitamrita in the IIT Bombay central library, when he got selected in this most prestigious of all universities in India, after his 12th grade school.
⬤ He immediately learnt Bengali and relished nectar of Nitai Gaura Lila by reading the whole book five times. As he became more and more enchanted with the pastimes of Lords Nitai Gaura, he spontaneously memorized many nectarean Sanskrit and Bengali shlokas and became a Vedic scholar even as a student.
⬤ He also chanted 32 rounds of Harinam daily and inspired many students in IIT with the message of the Bhagavad Gita. He also helped to conduct Sunday programs in different hostels and distributed Gita to them. In 1994, he topped his studies in IIT. But due to a higher calling, he selflessly dedicated his life to the brahmacharya order to practice and share the love of Bhakti to one and all.
⬤ During this time as a brahmachari from 1994-1996, he excelled as a leader and world-record-holder in both the Bhagavad Gita and Chaitanya Charitamrita set distribution. He was a self-effulgent and powerful Bhakti speaker and gave many daily and weekly classes on Srimad Bhagavatam, Bhagavad Gita, Bhakti Rasamrita Sindhu, Upadeshamrita, etc. to all types of audiences. He distributed millions of Srila Prabhupada’s books and sets throughout India by leading sankirtana bus parties throughout India.
⬤ He had the highest ratings on Sony TV for his discourses on the Bhagavad Gita As It Is. He was also the most sought out Bhakti speaker in the temple, many times giving multiple discourses in a day to temple devotees, sankirtana devotees, new bhaktas, brahmacharis, congregation devotees, youth, Bhaktivedanta College students, etc.
⬤ In 1996, he became the production manager in the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust, which is one of the biggest publishers of Vedic books in the world. Srila Prabhupada said that BBT was his heart so he wanted to remain close to Srila Prabhupada’s heart. He wanted to remain far away from the temple management to avoid listening to or even knowing about aparadha and mistakes of other devotees.
⬤ Besides, he was not interested in getting power, positions, or accumulating money. He took BBT India to heights unheard of before, based on the sheer number of book titles, their quantities he printed (in millions), and the excellent quality of the Vedic books that he got translated, digitized, and designed himself.
⬤ His tireless efforts brought down the prices of the Vedic books to one-third of their previous prices, but with much better quality, paper, and book covers than before. Due to the increased demand from all temples due to the reduction in book prices, he could publish millions of Bhakti books including 80 English titles and hundreds of book titles in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu, etc. He made BBT India the biggest BBT in the world by tripling its annual turnover in just 3 years, while not taking even a single rupee from the BBT for his personal gratification throughout his tenure.
⬤ To fulfil Srila Prabhupada’s desire, he successfully launched the Vedic encyclopedia distribution from home to home. It was the mission of placing in every home the most comprehensive collection ever of 108 volumes of scriptures written by his beloved Shiksha Gurudev Shrila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He imported all these volumes from BBT USA, where these books were just lying for decades. He masterminded, trained and engaged the grihastha community in this Vedic encyclopedia distribution as an occupation and around 100 sets were distributed in a few months.
⬤ Inspite of all these devotional services and many more, he used to spend his mornings and evenings to deeply remember the eternal pastimes (nitya-lila) and complete his daily quota of 64 rounds of the Hare Krishna maha mantra in the temple hall or the most peaceful personal quarters of Srila Prabhupada on the fifth floor.
⬤ He would chant in the temple all for the whole japa period from 5:15-7:15 am, and still continued chanting even after the Bhagavatam class ended at 9 am, till he could complete 32 rounds in the morning itself. Only then he would go to the prasadam hall and honor the morning prasadam. After his book publishing services in the BBT for the whole day, he would chant the remaining 32 rounds in the evening and night in the peaceful and serene quarters of Srila Prabhupada on the 5th floor. Only then he would take rest.
⬤ Every single devotee who came in contact with him during this period of his brahmachari life was very attracted to his humble and blissful nature. He was very pure in his dealings with everyone and was always happy to share his realized knowledge with one and all. He would read Chaitanya Charitamrita to all the devotees as they ate in the prasadam hall and everyone was in bliss. Inspired by his strict principles about prasadam, all the resident devotees formed groups and started cooking themselves throughout the week and told the karmi cook to leave.
⬤ After wholeheartedly practicing and vigorously sharing the teachings of his beloved shiksha gurudev Shrila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada for twelve years in the brahmacharya order, he voluntarily resigned from the BBT during Gaura Purnima 2001 and left with just a single bag and no money to search for his eternal Gurupadapadma, feeling an internal order to do so from Srila Prabhupada himself.
⬤ By the direct arrangement of Nitai Gaura, he found and surrendered to his eternal spiritual master Shrila Bhaktishastri Parampada das Maharaj in Ambika Kalna, the most holy dham near Navadvipa in Gauda Mandala of Srila Gauridasa Pandita, who is none other than the priya-narma Subala-sakha in Vraja lila.
⬤ His Gurudeva was also the direct disciple of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada, and had served him with his parents as a child from the very early days of Gaudiya Math, even before the formation of Chaitanya Math in Sridham Mayapur. That is almost a century of service! He chanted outside the bhajan-kutir of his Gurudeva for many days begging for his mercy. His Gurupadapadma mercifully gave him Diksha and His the spiritual name of Krishna Chaitanya das.
⬤ His Gurudeva realizing the genuine renunciation and potential of his disciple, ordered him to accept the sannyasa order by sending him with his own recommendation to his Godbrother in Kolkata. So on the 18th of September 2001, he directly accepted the tridandi sannyasa order of life in the form of sannyasa diksha from Srila Bhaktikumuda Santa Goswami. He received the Sannyasa Gopibhava-mantra, his tridanda, his kamandalu, and his kaupina in the holy presence of Sri Sri Radha Madanmohan in Shri Chaitanya Ashram in Kolkata.
⬤ At that time, he received the sannyasa name Tridandi Bhikshu Bhaktiratna Sadhu from him. Srila Santa Maharaj gave him a lot of mercy. He smiled and remarked that he looked just like Shri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu before giving him sannyasa. Srila Bhaktikumuda Santa Goswami was more than eighty years in the renounced order at that time. He was introduced to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta by Srila Bhaktipramoda Puri Maharaj as a child at a very tender age, just like own Gurudeva was.
⬤ After sannyasa, he humbly asked about bringing new souls to his Srila Gurudeva in Kalna. His Gurudeva placed his hand and on his head and ordered him to directly initiate them, as he said that he was too old to accept any more disciples and accept their namaparadhas.
⬤ The next twelve years of his life from 2001–2013 heralded deeper enlightenments in Nam-bhajan in Jagannatha Puri and Navadvipa. He stayed alone for a year in Mumbai after taking sannyasa to write and publish his first books like the condensed Chaitanya Bhagavata, Chaitanya Charitamrita, The Top 100 Names of God, Mahamantra Yoga, Our Eternal Home Navadvipa, etc. He revealed the glories of Nitainam and Gauranam for Harinam Ruchi in Mumbai from the scriptures.
⬤ But some devotees criticized him and started discouraging all those who were coming to him, because he was no longer in their institution. So he prayed to Nitai for further direction, who pointed towards Puridham. Due to his first love with Chaitanya Charitamrita in IIT, he always wanted to reside in Jagannath Puri for some time to further deepen his realizations of the Nitai Gaura Lila which he had read so many times.
⬤ First he resided in Krishna Homes in Baliapanda in Jagannath Puri dham from where he travelled and selflessly gave countless free discourses, bhagavata kathas, kirtans, many yearly parikramas to Vraja, Puri, Navadvipa, and Ekachakra, etc. for these 12 years.
⬤ Then his always-supportive dear devotee friend from IIT built the Nitai Gaudiya Matha for him in Puri. Srila Bhaktiratna Sadhu Maharaj personally installed the most enchanting His Pranpriya Deities of Shri Shri Pancha Tattva there with great jubilation and fanfare. It has now a lovely goshala, garden, and everyone who goes there is humbly served with mouth-watering Pancha Tattva and Jagannath mahaprasadam.
⬤ In 2013, he was chanting at noon on the Manasa Pavan ghat at Shyam Kund in Govardhan during the time when Srimati Radhika comes there for snana with Her sakhis and manjaris. Suddenly, he saw waves in the water and heard the divine voice of Srimati Radhika asking him to come and reside in Radha Kund. He was astonished to realize that major awakenings were happening in his life every 12 years, which Srila Prabhupada called a small kalpa. From 1989-2001 (12 years), he practiced the brahmacharya order. In 2001, he was called into the sannyasa order. And again after 12 years in 2013, he was called to Radha Kund.
⬤ Radha Kund and Jahnava Baithak were the two holy places which would mesmerize him from his early days of brahmachari life, whenever he would visit there. So after receiving this instruction from Sri Radha, in the core of his heart, he put a humble condition before Sri Radha.
⬤ He would come to Radha Kund if She can provide him the resources to make an Ashram so that devotees visiting Radha Kund can stay and perform bhajan there. And lo and behold, from the next few months, Sri Radhika sent miraculous and unexpected resources from devotees enabling the Radha Kund ashram to get constructed in a record time of one and half years.
⬤ He stayed in Sudevi’s kunja near Kunjabihari Gaudiya Math in Radha Kund when the Ashram was being constructed. He fasted for weeks and tolerated extreme heat and cold doing his bhajana and writing alone. He felt at home for the first time in his life at Radha Kund and eagerly waited for the ashram to get completed.
⬤ From 2013 to 2015, he took the visiting devotees for many long and detailed Radha Kund parikramas, celebrated all the Bhakti festivals with great jubilation, had the most blissful bathing with all the devotees every year on the night of Radha Kundashtami, gave month-long kathas in Kartik on various scriptures like Madhurya Kadambini, Upadeshamrita, Chaitanya Bhagavata, met, sang with harmonium, and made all the devotees laugh in bliss in his Nitai cave, etc.
⬤ In the new Radha Kund ashram began his journey into the depths of the madhyana-lila of Radha Shyam from 10:48 am to 3:36 pm. He would meditate on the nitya-lila from Govinda Lilamrita while chanting Harinam from his brahmachari days. But residing in Radha Kund directly took his remembrance to Ananga manjari’s kunja in the center of Radha Kund and esoteric secrets of his own service were revealed to him by Harinam and Nitai Gaura’s mercy.
⬤ As he became intimate in remembering Ananga manjari’s service in Radha Kund, an overwhelming attraction for also serving her as Jahnava Vasudha in Nitai’s Ekachakra Yogapith slowly dawned on him. Intoxicated with this desire, he rushed to Nitaidham Ekachakra and requested to stay on the ground floor in a very small room at the Chaitanya Sarasvata Matha.
⬤ He had many blissful Nitai kirtans with the devotees there with tears pouring from his eyes and his whole body erupted with bliss. He started doing Nitainam Lekhan on the night of March 2, 2015. After doing kirtan with the devotees there, he could not sleep. Goosebumps on his body were not ceasing. His eyes were teary. At that time, Gauranga mercifully showed Him the truth, the secret of all secrets.
⬤ Gaura reminded him of all the glorification he had done of Nitai right from the beginning days in his Chaitanya Bhagavata kathas in Krishna Homes in Puridham. And all his emphasis on becoming the devotee of the Lord’s devotee from his brahmacharya days. Gaura revealed to him that all through these years He had been slowly leading him to this Nitaibhakti in the mood of Srila Vrindavana das Thakura, since that mood pleases Him the most.
⬤ Completely overwhelmed with extreme gratitude to Gaura for showing him the truth of all truths eventually, he offered dandavats on the floor of his small room. The vision disappeared therafter. He could not believe his good fortune of getting the direct instruction to do Nitaibhakti from Gaura Himself. Though this vision of his is very insignificant in comparison to how Gaura pointed at Nitai and showed Srila Murari Gupta to offer dandavats to and worship Nitai first before Him in a vision, he became mad with bliss to remember the similarities.
⬤ Thereafter, he prayed to Doyal Nitai for a chance to stay for some months near His Yogapith. So Nitai miraculously arranged for a temporary land there during that time (because Nitai did not want him to stay there forever but go out to execute His will) and fulfilled his cherished desires to relish the all-pervading causeless mercy in Nitaidham Ekachakra. He lived in a mud hut there and his bliss grew in leaps and bounds at every moment of his stay near his beloved Jahnava Nitai’s Yogapith.
⬤ Many devotees visited there and Nityananda Trayodashis were celebrated with full vigor and extreme bliss. From Ekachakra sprouted a desire to collect all Nitai’s pastimes from the authorized scriptures and compose Hindi and English verses of the same to reveal the secret mercy of Nitai which very few people in India and all over world know about.
⬤ He returned back to Radha Kund in 2017 after being enlightened with Nitaibhakti in Ekachakra. As he stepped into Ramachandra Ghera, he almost fainted as the realization dawned on him that he was entering the Ashtasakhi kunjas around Radha Kund. He started sharing about His Lord Doyal Nitai to everyone He met. It was as if Nitai had forcibly come and sat in his heart conquering it with His love. All he could say was about Nitai! He become so overwhelmed with one-pointed love for Nitai as instructed to him by Gaura in Ekachakra.
⬤ He wanted to see which of his disciples followed him with a simple heart and put all their faith in Nitaibhakti to attain Gaura Radha Krishna and Harinam Siddhi. So he started emphasizing more on Nitaibhakti from that time. Since he was basking in his realization of Nitaibhakti in Ekachakra, he wanted to stress on it for a few years to his heart’s content. He had glorified Harinam and Gauranga a lot from 2001. So now he wanted to bring Nitaibhakti into prominence to strike a balance. At that time miracles happened.
⬤ Though it was only for sometime that he intended to focus only on the glorification of Nitai will full force, some thought that he will never glorify Harinam and Gaura again and left him. Actually Doyal Nitai answered his prayers and took it upon Himself to purify the association of the impatient around him. Those whom he was not comfortable with right from the beginning, but being soft-hearted could only express to Nitai about it, slowly left him.
⬤ He became awestruck at such minute care Nitai takes of His own devotees to save them and protect their tender seed of Nitaibhakti. He realized that Doyal Nitai answers all our prayers always. He is eternally grateful for those Nitai sent to him and then took away from him, because He knows that the rarest seed of Nitaibhakti, which he gave them as a humble instrument on their jounrey, will never be lost even if it is suppressed for while by their own selves.
⬤ In the early morning of Radhashtami 2017, he started doing Nitai Gunjan. Suddenly he found himself in the bedroom of Nitai where Jahnava was sitting on the bed and massaging His lotus feet as Nitai was gently crying with pearl-like tears falling on the bed. He was standing at some distance away behind Jahnava at the back of the bed. Jahnava devi suddenly turned and looked at him. Immediately he offered dandavats again.
⬤ Then Jahnava told him that he has forgotten why he got the sannyasa name Bhaktiratna from Srila Bhaktikumuda Santa Maharaja in 2001. Jahnava said that She was the one who had inspired Santa Maharaja to give him that name, because bhaktiratna-pradayinim is one of Her names in Her pranam-mantra. She did that because She had wanted him to do Nitai’s mission of reaching out to and helping totally new souls, right from the beginning. But he had never done that till now. He profusely begged forgiveness to Jahnava devi, resolved to do it from now, and offered dandavats. When he got up, the vision disappeared.
⬤ From that day, all he can think of is this instruction of Srimati Jahnava devi to him. He resolved to make this his humble service till his last breath. He realized that his 17 years of bhajana in the Dhams from 2001, after accepting the sannyasa order, was not so pleasing to Jahnava Nitai. Instead, They wanted him to sacrifice Dhamvasa and reach out to help totally new souls to overcome their suffering.
⬤ To faciliate this, he felt a deep desire to accept the white paramhansa sannyasa vesha which Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada gave in Gaudiya Matha. But he rejected this thought again and again because he did not want to accept that position which was higher than even parivarakacharya sannyasa. But as usual Doyal Nitai set into motion a miraculous chain of events before Gaura Purnima 2018, which made it abundantly clear to him that Nitai wanted him to do so.
⬤ From finding a white kaupina and vesha in Nitai das’s house after he saw Nitai’s hand pointing towards Mayapur in a vision at night, to Nitai on His own arranging for a call and return flight ticket back to Mayapur after just having come from there, and Nitai bringing Nitya Krishna das babaji Maharaj to the same ashram where he was staying on His own, etc. etc., slowly it became so clear that His Praneshwar Nitai was more eager for him to accept the white paramhansa vesha than even his own self.
⬤ So by Nitai’s direct miraculous arrangements without his own efforts, he humbly accepted the white vesha dress of the fourth and final stage of sannyasa known as paramhansa at Shrivas Angan on Gaura Purnima 2018 for the sole purpose of fulfilling Jahnava Ishvari’s instruction to him. He received it from Gaudiya Matha babaji Srila Nitya Krishna das, who is the vesha-disciple (1997) of his Gurudeva’s dear friend Srila Bhaktipramoda Puri Goswami and the diksha-disciple (1980) of Srila Bhaktikusuma Shramana Goswami, both godbrothers. Srila Bhaktikumuda Santa Goswami remained his primary Sannyasa guru as he had received the Sannyasa Gopibhava mantra from him. This was just a simple vesha-grahana.
⬤ The onus of revealing the most confidential secrets like the importance of chanting 100,000 Harinam daily, the Gaura Gopala mantra, Radha Kund’s glories, Nitaibhakti, Nitainam, Gunjan, Lekhan, important of Lila Kirtan and Shravan, Nitai’s position as Ananga in madhurya, Nitai Gaura Nitya Lila, Nitai Lila from all the scriptures, etc. are all on Srila Bhaktiratna Sadhu Maharaj.
⬤ He has taken the responsibility of establishing and sharing these merciful Truths, which are the most difficult to reveal and prove, because even the Scriptures have mentioned them only secretly. He could have easily played safe, let them remain hidden, and gathered thousands of followers. But he was more worried about helping the souls than about his own name, fame, and following.
⬤ Srila Bhaktiratna Sadhu Maharaj is not interested in building big temples, projects, or institutions; or to raise funds for the same. He is not into “mathadi vyaparam” or the business of making temples as Srila Vishvanatha Chakravarti Thakura points out in his Bhakti Rasamrita Sindhu Bindu. He gratefully accepts whatever resources and donations voluntarily given, with the help of which he tries to broadcast His Doyal Nitai’s and Harinam’s glories as far and wide as possible. He is not after making quick disciples either to increase his following. He just wants to assist devotees to increase their smarana in their own shravana and kirtana.
⬤ He has no desire to make money by selling or copyrighting his own writings and recordings. He considers his own writings and recordings as gifts from his Guruvarga, because they are based on their teachings. Therefore, he always shares them for free with everyone. He does not give special preference to those who donate money or to those who are rich and influential. He does not discriminate between rich and poor, or male and female. He does not meet females alone privately. He is equally affectionate and caring to one and all.
⬤ Srila Bhaktiratna Sadhu Maharaj is not a cult or sect leader. He leads a very simple life. He humbly assists devotees to surrender to Lord Nitai in order to attain Lords Gaura Radha Krishna. He never projects himself as a so-called “Godman” or superior to anyone. He never tells anyone to be under him or to worship him. He never considers himself to be the Founder of any institution.
⬤ He is a friend to everyone. He always serves all devotees who come to him by giving all the knowledge he can. He tries to appreciate and praise the smallest of services done for Nitai by each and every devotee. He mentally or physically bows down to every devotee who offers obeisances to him, so that he will never think of himself as superior to anyone.
⬤ Srila Bhaktiratna Sadhu Maharaj eats very simply, once a day or many times not even that. He sleeps on hard wood. He has only a few set of clothes and belongings. He does not keep personal money. Even the ashram bank account is not managed by him, but by his sincere and selfless disciples. So there is nothing private or secret about him, even in financial matters. He just decides and guides how the donated money is to be used in the direct service of the Lord.
⬤ If the title “Sadhu” befits someone, then that is Srila Bhaktiratna Sadhu Maharaj. He has no interest whatsoever in making millions of followers, tons of currency, a dozen royal mansions, or a name for himself in history.
⬤ His only interest is to love, glorify, and serve His beloved masters Jahnava Nitai because They gave him entry into Radha Kund lila and also Gaura lila, when no one else would. He has been burning the candle at both ends now for the past year to implement the instruction of Srimati Jahnava devi which he received on Radhashtami at Radha Kund.
⬤ He is on such a huge selfless service mission, which requires not just extreme dedication and determination from his side but absolute self-abnegation and self-sacrifice too. He has won the hearts of His disciples and known ones not by idle meditation but by the sweat of his brow.
⬤ He is not the typical Sadhu who professes inactivity amidst the dense forests or mountain caves, but he is a saint who works all the hours, for the welfare of one and all.
⬤ He never considers himself a Guru but teaches humility by his own example to his disciples, as the greatest virtue to receive the mercy of the Lord. Moreover, the depth of knowledge he has is truly enviable and unachievable for an ordinary person.
⬤ When it comes to the aim of life, people nowadays are totally at sea. From inside, everyone is still looking for real spiritual enlightenment from someone who is very genuine and pure. My dear brothers and sisters, your search will get over at the lotus feet of Srila Bhaktiratna Sadhu Maharaj who is a true Saint in all respects. Getting aware of and personally experiencing his virtues any sane person would conclude that he is really a Jewel of Devotion (as his name suggests), who shines brightly among all devotees to distribute the rarest gift to mankind — loving devotional service to Nitai and Gaura Radhe Krishna.
⬤ The pure transcendental sound vibrations of his voice, which move everyone who hear them, prove that he has immensely deep spiritual realizations. His discourses reflect the vast knowledge he has of the Vedic scriptures. He very precisely presents our scriptures with profound realization while rejecting any kind of so-called speculative and manufactured knowledge.
⬤ His Empowerment by his Praneshwar Doyal Nitai is as follows:
⬤ 2001: Glories of 64 Rounds of Harinam
⬤ 2002: Nityananda Gauranga Nam Glories
⬤ 2003: Gaura Bhakti & Gauranam Glories
⬤ 2004: Navadvipa Dham Glories
⬤ 2005: Jagannath Puri Dham Glories

⬤ 2018: Nitainam Gunjan Glories
⬤ 2018: Nitai Bhakti Prachar Glories
⬤ 2018: Nitailila Kirtan and Shravan Glories
⬤ He does not share most of his innermost realizations during bhajana. But as Srila Krishna dasa Kaviraja and Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura said that if one does not share some intimate realizations then Nitai glories can’t be known and appreciated. Humbly following in their footsteps, he shares some general realizations like the ones explained in this biography. Not for name or fame, but to increase the love and faith of the faithful Nitaibhaktas in Doyal Nitai. Those who don’t have faith in him will reject everything anyways, whether he shares some realizations or not.
⬤ Srila Bhaktiratna Sadhu Maharaj serves in the eternal pastimes in his two spiritual forms: one as a manjari kishori in Ananga kunj in the middle of Radha Kund under Kamal, Ananga, and Rupa manjaris in Radha Krishna Lila, and the other as a kishori dasi in Jahnava Nitai’s Ekachakra Yogapith in Nitai Gaura Lila.
